Linear Combination
Definition
A sum of the form \(\alpha_1 |v_1\rangle + \alpha_2|v_2\rangle + \cdots + \alpha_n|v_n\rangle\), where \(\alpha_i\) are scalars, is called a linear combination of \(|v_1\rangle, |v_2\rangle, \cdots, |v_n\rangle\).
A sum of the form \(\alpha_1 |v_1\rangle + \alpha_2|v_2\rangle + \cdots + \alpha_n|v_n\rangle\), where \(\alpha_i\) are scalars, is called a linear combination of \(|v_1\rangle, |v_2\rangle, \cdots, |v_n\rangle\).
