The Promised Neverland, especially up to the end of the first main arc, is by far my favorite story to date (August 29, 2024). This blends some of my favorites: The Giver, The Hunger Games, Maze Runner, etc. perfectly and has a compelling story of its own. The first main arc stands by itself much like The Giver, but the resolution at the end provides a satisfying conclusion. After hearing how the Anime butchered this, I checked in a few episodes and agree. Either stop at the end of the first season or (my recommendation) read the Manga.
